Parent Night 6:30 to 8:00 pm in the Middle School, River Road Campus

Beyond the Birds and the Bees - How to Talk to Your Kids, with Patricia Stremple, MD

Giving children accurate and age-appropriate information about adult topics can be a real challenge for parents. Pediatrician and Khalsa School parent, Dr. Patricia Stremple, has been teaching the Our Whole Lives curriculum (pre-school through adolescence) for 12 years, including 7 years with our middle school students. She will offer helpful parent resources and suggestions for talking to children of all ages.

Come with your own questions, learn how to answer your children’s questions and how to open conversations with them about topics such as relationships, self-acceptance, personal and family values, sexuality and reproduction, puberty, changes, gender differences, abuse awareness, gender identity and sexual orientation. Dr. Stremple will also address how to respond to “sexy” media messages aimed at younger and younger children.
